The Tang Soo Do Resource has been a genuinely invaluable resource for me as a lifelong martial artist and school owner. The depth of material alone sets it apart — especially the archive of older forms and traditional content that you don't often see preserved in one place anymore.
What I appreciate most is that it's not just history for history's sake.
There's a lot of practical content that sparks ideas for curriculum, class structure, and drills that can be adapted and implemented directly into your own school. It gives you tools and inspiration without trying to tell you how to run your program.
If you're an instructor who values tradition but also wants fresh perspective and usable ideas, The Tang Soo Do Resource is well worth your time.

By the Numbers
“I've never believed that learning should stop with rank. Every great teacher I've met has added another piece to the puzzle of becoming a better martial artist—and a better instructor.”
Preserving the Legacy of Tang Soo Do
Master Segarra's contributions extend far beyond teaching classes.
For decades, he has worked to preserve and share the history and philosophy of Tang Soo Do with English-speaking practitioners around the world. His name appears in virtually every English-language publication authored by Grandmaster Hwang Kee or Grandmaster H.C. Hwang, reflecting years of dedication to documenting and preserving the Moo Duk Kwan tradition.
Among his proudest accomplishments is being personally responsible for bringing two of Grandmaster Hwang Kee's books to English-speaking readers through their English translations. He also helped produce the instructional video series covering the techniques, philosophy, and curriculum of Tang Soo Do / Soo Bahk Do, making these invaluable educational resources available to students around the world.
In addition to his published work, Master Segarra has spent decades researching Tang Soo Do history, interviewing senior masters, preserving rare photographs and documents, and helping ensure that future generations have access to authentic information about the art.
“Our responsibility isn't just to teach today's students. It's to preserve this art so the next generation receives it with the same integrity that it was entrusted to us.”
Beyond Traditional Martial Arts
Master Segarra believes that becoming a complete martial artist requires continual education.
In addition to his extensive traditional martial arts training, he has earned professional certifications in Executive Protection (Bodyguard/Personal Protection), Tactical Firearms, and numerous other specialized areas of defensive training.
These experiences have broadened his understanding of real-world personal protection while reinforcing the timeless principles taught through traditional martial arts.
His philosophy is simple: traditional values and modern knowledge should work together to create better martial artists, better leaders, and better people.
“The more I learned, the more I realized that the principles of discipline, respect, humility, and lifelong learning exist in every great martial art. Those lessons have made me not only a better martial artist, but a better teacher.”

Master Segarra has poured his heart, knowledge, time, and passion into The Tang Soo Do Resource isn't just an online platform—it's a living testament to the traditions, integrity, and excellence that define our art.
The Tang Soo Do Resource is the best investment you can include to your Tang Soo Do Training!
A Resource to Help You Grow
Master Segarra created this educational platform with one purpose—to help Tang Soo Do practitioners continue learning wherever they are in their martial arts journey.
This program is not intended to replace your instructor, school, or organization. In fact, Master Segarra strongly encourages every student to remain loyal to their instructor and continue supporting their dojang.
Instead, these lessons are designed to supplement your regular training by providing additional perspectives, historical insight, technical details, drills, applications, philosophy, and teaching concepts that often cannot be fully explored during weekly classes.
Whether you belong to the Moo Duk Kwan, another Tang Soo Do organization, or another traditional martial arts system, these lessons are intended to help you become a more knowledgeable, well-rounded martial artist while strengthening your appreciation for the instruction you receive from your own teacher.
For practitioners who no longer have access to qualified instruction because they have relocated, their school has closed, or they simply live in an area without Tang Soo Do, this program offers an opportunity to continue learning from a lifetime of experience dedicated to the preservation and teaching of authentic Tang Soo Do.
“The best instructors never stop being students. If these lessons help you understand your own instructor's teachings more deeply, then I've accomplished my goal.”
A Lifetime Mission
Whether teaching a child's very first class, mentoring instructors, translating historical works, producing instructional videos, or researching the history of Tang Soo Do, Master Segarra's mission has remained unchanged for nearly five decades:
To preserve authentic Tang Soo Do, honor the legacy of the Moo Duk Kwan, and inspire martial artists around the world to continue growing in knowledge, skill, and character.
“My goal has never been to become the most famous martial artist. My goal has always been to become the best student I could be, preserve the art I love, and pass it on with integrity to the next generation.”
A black belt is never the destination. It is simply the invitation to become a lifelong student.
